About the Species

This specimen is preserved in Dominican amber, Miocene age, Dominican Republic. It was made available to the High-Resolution X-ray CT Facility for scanning by Dr. David Grimaldi and Dr. Tam Nguyen of the American Museum of Natural History. Funding for image processing was provided by a National Science Foundation Digital Libraries Initiative grant to Dr. Timothy Rowe of The University of Texas at Austin.

About this Specimen

The specimen was scanned by Matthew Colbert and Richard Ketcham on 19 July 2000 along its long axis for a total of 198 slices. Each 1024x1024 pixel slice is 0.0837 mm thick, with an interslice spacing of 0.0837 mm and a field of reconstruction of 23 mm.
